MagiQuest: A Real Life Video Game!

With my magic wand I mixed potions, opened treasure chests, and fought monsters.  And it all happened outside of a computer.

Outside of MagiQuest in Pigeon Forge, TN
MagiQuest is a live adventure game that you get to explore outside of the virtual world.  It’s like a real life interactive video game.

Using a wand you move around in the kingdom doing quests, battling dragons, and having other adventures.  Each MagiQuest location is decorated to look like a medieval fantasy world.  Some have magical forests, dragon’s lairs, castles, villages, and other fantasy realms.

It’s easy to play, but challenging at the same time.  The wand works kind of the way the Nintendo Wii does.  You point at objects and flick your wrist and poof!, something magical happens.  A treasure chest really opens or a suit of armor starts talking to you. It’s very cool to see a fantasy world come to life around you.

MagiQuest is great for kids, but fun for adults as well.  And unlike regular video games, you are moving around getting exercise while you are collecting items.  Plus the experience is much more real than just staring at a screen pushing a couple of buttons.

I am totally addicted and want to visit all of the locations.  My favorite so far is the one at Myrtle Beach, SC.  There is a quest that covers the entire boardwalk at Broadway at the Beach.  I walked around outside flicking my wand at statues. Definitely a blast.

The prices are a bit steep, like all attractions are.  It’s about $10 an hour plus the cost of the wand the first time you play.  I guess magic comes with a price.

Check for coupons on the MagiQuest website and local coupon books.  Some locations even offer discounts if you sign up for text messages or email lists.  I won two free hours of game play by text.

Ready to play yet? Get a wand and hop into the game…
